The Hills Montessori School Peace Pole
In 2008, The Hills Montessori School in Adelaide commissioned Geoff Bromilow to craft a Peace Pole from a dead stringybark tree at the entrance of the school, to celebrate the school's 30th anniversary.
Inscribed on the pole in three languages are the words 'May Peace Prevail on Earth'. Bromilow says that he "...wanted to create something which would represent the true essence of the school while expressing what peace is and means."
Taking over 100 hours to complete, the installation is a symbol of peace that greets all who enter the school.
The Peace Pole can be found at the entrance to The Hills Montessori School, 12 Anderson Rd, Aldgate South Australia.
